Nichirei Foods is Hiring a Quality Control Technician Near WEST SACRAMENTO, CA

General Position Summary:

The QC technician is responsible for maintaining quality control processes, testing of product, and recording and analyzing of results gathered during product inspection.

 Essential Job Functions

  • Clean and maintain designated spaces both inside and outside of the facility daily, which includes Quality Control Lab and designated QC working areas.
  • Use chemicals trained and approved to use and understands the locations and use of the Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Responds to urgent situations, such as spills, that require quick action.
  • Participates in safety meetings.
  • Evaluates finished products for quality and acceptability. Performs all necessary analysis as required, and according to the product specification.
  • Communicates product quality issues to Production Supervisors, Production Managers, QC Supervisor and/or QA/QC Manager.
  • Reports and acts promptly when out of specification products are found in production lines.
  • Is responsible for the QC checks to be performed on schedule.
  • Completes QC paperwork accurately.
  • Perform environmental monitoring samples, this includes swabs during pre-op, allergen testing and monthly environmental, i.e. Listeria, salmonella, E.Coli and TPC.
  • Logs all analysis test results.
  • Monitors line equipment for functionality, safety, and cleanliness.
  • Perform production scale checks and lab equipment calibration based on calibration schedule.
  • Collect micro samples as needed.
  • Conduct standardized tests on food, and food ingredients to ensure compliance with standards and regulations such as color, texture, or ratios.
  • Taste or smell food to ensure flavors meet specification or to select samples with specific characteristic.
  • Maintains retention sample area and control sample file.
  • Follows all GMP’s and Safety Procedures.
  • This position is required to bend, stretch, lift, push and pull.
  • Effectively communicate with team members and management team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule

2nd Shift, hours may vary according to production needs. 

On 24 hour production days, the shift is from 9pm to 5:30am
On 16 hour production days, the shift is from 3pm to 11:30pm
